Visitor's Center

The Visitor's Complex is open from Sunrise to Sunset on North Jungle Trail, about halfway between County Road 510 and The Sebastian Inlet Bridge on Highway A1A in North Indian River County.

Situated between the Atlantic Ocean and The Indian River Lagoon, the Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge's Visitor Complex will allow an unprecedented view of the Pelican Island rookery from the observation tower on The Centennial Trail Boardwalk. Prior to this new facility, the only way to view Pelican Island has been from tour boats, canoe and kayak expeditions.

There is a main entrance parking lot that includes restrooms. In addition, there is a parking area further west from which visitors will gain access to a walking trail that leads to an information kiosk, and The Centennial Trail Boardwalk which overlooks Pelican Island- America's First National Wildlife Refuge.
